Organic Express = Spud.com

what used to look like this:

organic express and french bulldog

now looks like this:

organic express, spud, organic produce delivery

Every other Friday I come home to a box full of fresh, local, organic produce and groceries - delivered right to my front door!

What was once a small eco business called organicexpress.com is now {after merging} called Spud.com, an organic home grocery delivery service, supporting local, small-scale farmers and suppliers offering a variety of delicious organic fruits and vegetables that are tailored by you to your unique preferences. You can select individual items from the organic produce category for each delivery, or you can create your own Fresh Harvest Box for a grand total of $29.06 {$58.12mo}. Other plans are available as well. They also have organic groceries {other than produce} you can add to your Fresh Harvest Box only when you choose to. Really, it's awesome!

What's groovy too is that they donate money on your behalf to the SPUD community fund. So far, I have donated a total of $1.09 {I know, huge} but still, I am part of the climate change solution! ...and the food {not to mention the convenience of it} is delish too.

I'm not getting paid to talk about how great spud.com is, HOWEVER, I just noticed at the bottom of my receipt a coupon code CR5-993812 that will save YOU {new customers} $25 over 4 deliveries for signing up. So, do it, it's awesome!

What a great idea! I live in NY, so unfortunately they aren't delivering to me all the way from California. However, for those of us on the East Coast, there are a few similar companies who serve our area:

http://www.doortodoororganics.com serves Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and West Virginia. Organic Fruit & Veggie club (organicsny.com) delivers to New York, Connecticut, Massachusets, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. And Urban Organic (www.urbanorganic.com) is based out of Brooklyn, NY.

Thanks for your post - glad I stumbled upon it!

I am in Seattle and I having used the service for a few weeks, I can vehemently say STAY AWAY FROM SPUD! Every week there was a problem. When I received the last fateful $90 order that was needlessly left in the rain to spoil, I immediately contacted them. When spud! refused to even respond to my email or refund anything, I said enough. I am still waiting for my refunds from previous deliveries!

I was referred to spud! from another client who had used Pioneer Organics (of which spud! had taken over) who also noticed the recent an increase in bad produce, outrageous prices and rotten customer service. Great concept, bad implementation…that is really tragic considering that spud! has also bought up Organic Express because now there are less competitors. Rather sad to see the negative elements of blatant capitalism take over the organic market especially when spud! promotes themselves as having “a for-profit business with the heart of a nonprofit”.

Hi there!
Thanks again for the great review of our service! I'm thrilled that you've enjoyed it!

I'm sorry for planeride who has seemed to have such a poor experience. They have posted this exact review numerous other times around the internet. The experience that has upset them to this extent is not one that we want for ANY of our customers. spud! is committed to 100% customer satisfaction as we provide them with the most local and organic groceries and produce we can get. And so any time someone doesn't have that experience, we do what we can to rectify that.

If you or anyone around you hasn't had a great experience with us, I'd love to be contacted directly at danielle@spud.com so I can follow up as soon as I know.

Thanks so much for being committed to organics!
